Psychosocial disability (PSD) is a term that refers to a disability that is caused by a mental health issue. Not everyone with a mental health issue will develop a psychosocial disability, but for those who do, it can be severe, long-term, and hinder recovery. People who have a disability because of their mental health condition may be eligible for the NDIS.
Understanding Psychosocial Disability?
To put it simply, PSD related to the social hardships and how your life is impacted due to your disability. People living with PSD may find it difficult to organise plans, set goals and engage in work, school and training.

- Anxiety disorders, including post-traumatic stress, obsessive compulsive disorder, agoraphobia, and social phobia.

Supported by the NDIS, Psychosocial Recovery Coaching is implemented to assist people living with PSD to live a full life. It supports individuals’ strengths and is provided by experienced mentors with a great understanding of recovery-oriented practice.
You will be assisted to take more control of your life and better manage complex challenges of day-to-day living.
Through strong and respectful relationships and skilled coaching, you will be supported to build capacity, including strengths and resilience.
